🔗 Share this article The second-hand marketplace Shoppers Share Displeasure Regarding Size Updates Vinted users have been reacting angrily due to a modification that led to listings displaying inaccurate size information. This online marketplace has revised its measurement guidelines for women's and children's clothes failing to inform all shoppers about the modification. Social Media Response Numerous buyers and vendors have taken to social media saying Vinted listings now show a modified sizing category compared to what was initially listed due to the recalibration. Vinted explained the new system was more in line with comparable marketplaces. They have suggested members to check their listings and adjust the sizing manually where appropriate, resulting in member annoyance. Sizing System Modifications Previously, the measurements included a single numeric size and a letter, such as S/8 or M/10. The revised method features a letter and a range such as S/UK 8-10. With some products, the sizing has been recategorised - such as a large size was previously a 12 but currently displays as UK 16-18. Member Experiences One content creator, who makes TikTok content about plus-size fashion, stated the update "complicates both purchasing and selling". "Few clothing companies classify XL as 20-22," which is what Vinted now does. A different member, located in Scotland, said garments she listed featuring size 14 markings were displaying on the service as measurements 20-22. "Should someone sized 20-22 purchase these they will likely be quite upset," she stated. Manual Updates A different user, from Derby, stated she felt frustrated by the change as she had to manually change the sizing for "all her products". "Personally, this is quite irritating, since I have chronic health issues and Vinted sales have been crucial following partial earnings loss," she explained. Marketplace Information The app has more than 100 million members, comprising 18 million UK members. It has proved a popular alternative compared to resale services such as eBay and Depop. This is not the initial instance where an unanticipated change within the service has received backlash: previously, the platform withdrew an update to its shipping options after backlash from users.
